Vinyasa Flow & Yin Yoga

This course offers you a unique opportunity to practise both Vinyasa Flow & Yin Yoga. These styles of Yoga co-exist, complementing and enhancing each other. The combination explores the external and internal dance between movement and stillness.

Dynamic vinyasa flow yoga will be practised in the morning. It has an energising and transformative quality, challenging and empowering both the physical and mental body. It provides us with our external and creative expression.

Yin yoga in the evening class evokes a reflective and meditative state of being. Time and space is given to observe ourselves in practice and insight is gained into our internal world. We learn how to be still with what is, to accept and find contentment.

Both styles of Yoga lead to the same path where we hope to gain more knowledge and wisdom about ourselves as we are and how to realise our full potential. Yoga is a creative and experiential Art form where all is possible.

All Levels of practitioner are invited to this retreat.

Alan Charles

Alan Charles has been studying and practising yoga for around 20 years. He originally came to yoga seeking help for a serious back injury that had kept him off work for over six months. As someone who had been pretty inactive in life up to that period, the transformative nature of yoga then became very evident.

Over the years Alan has been influenced by a great many different teachers, styles and approaches. His current default teaching style is Vinyasa Flow, a dynamic style that enables poses and sequences to be creatively explored in a challenging yet safe and centred manner. His teaching approach is friendly, down to earth and all inclusive; the classes he teaches often include students who are complete beginners alongside very experienced students. Alignment and using the breath are key feature he emphasise which helps with focus, balance and poise throughout the practice.

Alan is a graduate of the 2-year triyoga teacher training programme, one of the most recognised and respected programmes across Europe. He is also an assistant asana instructor at Triyoga on their June 2015 teacher training intake, alongside his teachers and inspiration Mimi Kuo-Deemer and Jean Hall. Alan also teaches at numerous health clubs and corporate venues across central London.
