Open your heart through a week of asana, pranayama, chanting, yoga philosophy and Rhythmvmnt.
In this yoga retreat the morning will start with pranayama,
meditations and chanting, followed on by Yogasana. The Asanas will
focus on creating inner stillness within postures, while being externally
dynamic. We'll build the week toward a flowing practice focusing
on the alignment of Iyengar, the strength of Astanga and the stillness
of classical Hatha. The main focus of the asana sessions will be
to allow the breath to gently create openings, allowing the physical
form to expand within it's own limitations. Through this practice
we'll have an opportunity to experience our selves and push against
our own boundaries. The asana sessions will be appropriate for all
levels as we'll all be exploring within our own boundaries.
A Rhythmvmnt workshop will follow in the late afternoon. This
is an ecstatic movement/dance technique that allows participants to explore
themselves through their bodies in motion. "Only when an internal
stillness is achieved can we truly explore the outer edges of our
physical form." In this we'll explore African Dance, Contact Improvisation,
Japanese Butoh and Modern Dance techniques to allow the students
to find their own natural rhythms. All these classes will end with
a section of "guided Chaos".
